SSHSS is currently looking for 3 family physicians for a proposed new clinic centrally located in Blind Bay. A facility of approximately 2,400 sq. ft. will be available with leasehold improvements and fixtures in place. This would be an ideal situation for a team of physicians to structure the practice to suit, and to share the workload.
Hospital privileges (if desired) could be available in Salmon Arm. Clinic hours would be daytime only, with the option of no Emergency Services. Our communities are supported by STARS, Shuswap Lake General Hospital (27 km east), Royal Inland Hospital (a large tertiary hospital 81 km west) and the South Shuswap First Responders.
With a current population in the South Shuswap of approximately 7800, and the closest medical facility located in Salmon Arm, we feel it is essential to establish this new clinic to support the concept of “bringing health care closer to home.” Sorrento, within the South Shuswap, is also proposing a medical office for one physician supported by the nurse practitioner who began working in late 2013.
