Library cards are issued free to anyone who lives in or owns property in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District. Students attending an educational institution within the District are considered residents.

A library card offers access to the entire collection of the Library System to everyone, regardless of age. Parental consent is required to obtain a library card for children age 11 and under. Persons over age 15 are responsible for all materials borrowed on their card and their child’s card, and for any charges on items that are overdue, lost, or damaged. To obtain a library card, apply at any branch or the Bookmobile. Remember to bring proof of identification and proof of your current local address.

Independent Supportive Living – a long-term care option that combines housing, along with supportive services such as meals, social activities and housekeeping.
Assisted Living – a long-term care option that combines housing, support services and health care, as needed. It is designed for individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s), such as meals, medication management or assistance, bathing, dressing and transportation.
Independent supportive care and assisted living is a very important part of the continuum of senior care that also includes in-home care, adult day care, senior housing, retirement homes, residential care, hospice care and nursing home care.

We want to help you understand the benefits of independent supportive living and assisted living services, along with what is entailed in providing exceptional care for seniors with limitations and disabilities. In addition, we want to assist in the process of making, what for many, is a very difficult decision. We do this by filling the role of a facilitator and counselor – providing knowledge, experience and expertise.
