Our Programs:
Provide Information
We maintain an extensive library to advise on services and programs available to seniors.
Coordinate Services
We maintain a matrix of recommended services and service providers to provide maintenance and support services to seniors to enable them to live in their homes as they age.
Better at Home (BAH)
BAH is a government sponsored program administered by United Way with the aim of providing non-medical support to seniors to enable them to live in their homes longer. Financial assistance is provided for those who cannot afford these services. We have established an Advisory Committee to assist BAH to carry out their mandate in our area. We use the matrix referenced above to recommend trusted providers to carry out the work requested through BAH or separately if persons do not qualify for BAH assistance.
Foot Care
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) offers foot care at our facility on a bi-weekly basis. Cost is $40 and bookings can be made by calling the Centre.
Seniors Computer Training
We offer computer training on a one-on-one basis for Apple products, tablets and other devices.
Seniors Driving Seniors
Local transportation is offered through personnel who have registered with Better At Home program. Inquire about alternate transportation services.
Income Tax
Preparation and filing of simple income tax returns is offered free of charge for low-income seniors.
Our Volunteers:
Volunteers support the Centre in various ways from staffing the office during open hours to supporting all the programs listed above.
